How it works

Fraxel Restore

Fractioned Laser technology (1550 mHz) that works to rebuild the collagen broken down through scarring, sun exposure, age, or gravity. Treatment requires special preparation for the skin. Over time it:

• Stimulates collagen production.
• Smooths out acne scars.
• Smooths lines and wrinkles.
• Reduces the appearance of stretch marks.

Fraxel Dual

Fractionated laser (1927 mHz) that works on pigment. It will remove discoloration, and, at the same time stimulate collagen. Skin must be prepared 2 weeks prior to the treatment. Over time it removes:

• Sunspots and hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage.
• Melasma caused by birth control methods.

Fraxel Refresh®

Uses the fractionated laser (1927 mHz) that works on pigment. It will remove discoloration, and, at the same time stimulate collagen. The difference between this and Fraxel dual, is the number of passes. Fraxel dual has eight passes. Refresh® has two passes. This allows for  dramatically less recovery time. With Fraxel your face is lobster red and molting for a week.  You might feel like “I don’t want anyone to see me like this!”  With Refresh® there is less downtime. The redness persists for about 24 hours. The peeling skin  less obvious, and can easily continue your regular routine.  Most people will need four to six treatments. Skin must be prepared 2 weeks prior to the treatment. Over time it removes:

• Sunspots and hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage.
• Unven texture and tone.
• Fine lines and wrinkles.

What you need

You will need 3 – 6 sessions spaced four weeks apart, depending on your skin condition and its severity. Each treatment targets 20% of the skin’s surface. You will see benefits immediately, but the full results are visible about 2 – 3 months after you have finished all your treatments.

The Fraxel laser procedure takes approximately 30 – 45 minutes. There is some discomfort, so we use a topical anesthetic. Patients often compare the feeling to prolonged sun exposure, and the discomfort lasts about 1 – 3 hours. Skin can be very sensitive after treatments. Side effects include swelling and dry skin.
