Skin Bar NYC Expands- Again!

As many of you know the team at Skin Bar is continually looking for ways to improve our service and members experience. That’s why we send a personal email after every appointment asking you to grade your most recent service at our spa. We read and respond to every one of the surveys we get. In recent months we have heard requests for more appointment availability in the busy evening hours. Since receiving the first request we have been hard at work searching for a solution.

Finding the right solution has been a challenging and exciting process. The problem was a pretty simple one- SPACE – we’ve simply run out of it. The solution would prove to be a little harder to find.

Time For A Change?
First we considered moving to another building all together. As our regular clients know, this building while conveniently located and charming has its drawbacks. The common bathroom being the biggest Achilles heel. It is small, cramped and a little stuffy. But, a total relocation would be hugely disruptive and the whole team agreed that while the current building amenities aren’t “perfect”, we love our spa, the space and its warmth. And the location is hard to match. Our members tell us daily how much they like the space and convenience of being located close to work. So, we ditched that idea.

Too Much Of a Good Thing?
Last month we initiated expanded evening hours closing at 9pm instead of 8pm. As much as our members appreciate the Skin Bar team’s willingness to stay open later, that hour is just a little too late for most clients after a long day at work. Expanding our hours just didn’t seem to be the answer.

Back to The Drawing Board.
So, we turned our attention inward and reenlisted the help of our Architects, at Agencie Group for a solution. And like the saying goes, “third times a charm”. We conducted something called a client flow analysis to determine the best flow pattern and space allocation. The results showed that our current client capacity is a bit askew. Our schedule is like an upside down pyramid. Morning appointments are the lightest booked period of the day. Afternoon builds up and then blow ups from 5:30pm to close. Our study made it clear there was one solution. We needed another treatment room.

Eureka I’ve Got It!
I just received the proposed new layout that will include a shiny new treatment room. This treatment room will be sound proofed and roomy with a sink and design elements consistent with our current Hollywood glamour theme. For the foreseeable future you will still find us in the same convenient location, on the same floor, in the same suite. But this will be the new improved version of what you have already come to expect from Skin Bar NYC.

During our expansion, it will be business as usual at Skin Bar NYC. So, we don’t expect any closures or gaps in your care. Most work will be done on the weekend and in the evening. Our contractor has given us a timeline of 3 weeks for the work to be completed, so this upgrade will be quick and painless. And the reward will be worth any minor inconvenience, promise. The new addition allows us to open 20 additional hours of service per week during the most requested hours of 4pm-8pm. That’s 80 additional hours per month. Work is expected to begin early next month and complete by the end of February 2016.

A personal note from the owner of Skin Bar NYC
The comments we get from our clients help your Skin Bar NYC team make the additions and adjustments that continue to please our members and fuel our growth. Please keep the comments and suggestions coming! We’re listening.
